Chemical peels are an effective and simple way to improve the condition of the skin. Treatment causes the skin to renew itself, thus reducing the appearance of troublesome spots or acne scars. It also makes the skin structure smoother and restores the radiance of your skin.
Chemical peels are liquids that consist of a combination of different natural acids such as lactic, salicylic and glycolic acid. These acids reactivate different skin structures and trigger a faster renewal process.
Each acid has its own unique property that is suitable for different skin indications. This includes reducing pigmentation and inflammation or reducing sebum production. In addition, these natural acids also stimulate the connective tissue fibres, which ensures skin improvement. For every skin there is a suitable peel.
By applying chemical peels, the skin condition is maintained, and the skin will glow again. Depending on your skin type and skin problem, the skin therapist at Huidzorg West will apply the most appropriate chemical peel.
The skin is cleansed with a facial cleanser
If necessary, the skin therapist will check the skin for acne spots and remove them with a deep cleansing treatment
The skin is detoxified with a pre-treatment lotion
The chemical peel is applied and will soak into the skin for a few minutes
The skin therapist neutralises the acids of the chemical peel
The skin is lastly nourished with a restorative cream and if necessary an SPF
Frequently Asked Questions
After the treatment, the skin may look red and feel tight. The redness often disappears within a few hours. There may be flaking for the first three days, but then heals within two weeks. Usually the flaking starts around the mouth, chin, cheeks and eyes. It is important not to touch the scabs and skin.
After the treatment, you can camouflage the skin with a mineral make-up. Jane Iredale’s mineral makeup products help restore the skin and do not irritate the skin.
A peel can be reimbursed depending on the condition. If the diagnosis is acne, the treatment will be reimbursed from the supplementary insurance.
