Sun damage
Sun damage is a phenomenon that occurs frequently in later life. You will develop small rough patches on your skin. UV light also affects the appearance of sunspots or age spots (liver spots). This is particularly noticeable on the hands, the décolleté and the face. Skin disorders such as couperose, poikiloderma of civatte, melasma or rosacea may also be worsened by sunlight.
Sun damage is caused by the ultraviolet light from the sun. It breaks down collagen and elastin in your skin, which in turn leads to wrinkles or sun spots.
