Poikiloderma of Civatte is a lesion of the skin that often consists of pigment and blood vessels. In most cases, this benign skin condition occurs on the neck, cheeks and décolleté. Poikiloderma mainly affects white women over the age of forty. Men can also get this skin condition. Poikiloderma of Civatte is characterised by a red colour, as if someone has been slightly burned.
This is also called sun neck. On the side of the neck, you will see reddish-brown discolouration. Poikiloderma of Civatte is a combination of dilated vessels and pigmentation.
