Stretch marks
Stretch marks are red-purple, linear stripes on the skin. This skin condition often occurs on the abdomen, buttocks, legs, breasts and hips.
The linear stripes are caused by too much stretching of the skin, causing the subcutaneous connective tissue to tear. The development of stretch marks can be caused by pregnancy, rapid growth or by the influence of certain hormones or long-term use of corticosteroids.
